1. Account Eligibility & Verification
While anyone can create a basic account to browse, vendors must verify their identity using a valid @student.oauife.edu.ng email address. You are strictly responsible for all activity conducted under your account.
2. Status Tiers & Upload Limits
To protect the marketplace from spam and maintain high-quality inventory, vendor capabilities are governed by our Status system:
- Starter Status: The default tier, providing limited monthly upload credits and active listings.
- Standard & Supreme Status: Upgraded tiers featuring increased or unlimited upload capabilities and Verified Badges. These tiers require manual administrative review and approval.
- Credit Reset: All monthly upload credits automatically reset every 30 days.
3. The Escrow System & Zero Liability Policy
Tarra operates a strict Escrow system to protect both buyers and sellers from campus fraud. Funds are held securely by our third-party processor and are only released to the seller after the buyer confirms receipt, or automatically after the 24-hour inspection window expires.
- The Zero Tolerance Rule: Attempting to conduct, request, or route payments outside of the Tarra application is strictly prohibited.
- Absolute Limitation of Liability: Tarra assumes absolutely zero liability for scams, lost funds, or undelivered goods resulting from off-platform agreements. If you choose to bypass our Escrow system, you forfeit all platform protections and assume total financial risk.
Order Cancellations & Fees
- Buyer Restriction: To protect vendor inventory from fraudulent holds, buyers cannot cancel an order once checkout is complete and funds are secured in Escrow.
- Seller Cancellations & Processing Fees: Only sellers have the authority to cancel an active order prior to confirming fulfillment. If a seller cancels an order, the buyer will be fully refunded. However, the seller will be charged a processing fee to cover the non-refundable payment gateway charges associated with the transaction. This fee will be automatically deducted from the seller's Tarra wallet or future payouts.
- Strike Penalty: In addition to the financial processing fee, the cancellation will result in an immediate moderation strike against the seller’s account. All strikes are strictly enforced under our 3-Strike Moderation System, leading to mandatory suspension or permanent bans.
4. Moderation & Strike System
To ensure a secure trading environment, Tarra enforces a strict, three-tier moderation system. Strikes are actively issued for platform violations, specifically: attempting to route payments off-platform, unjustified order cancellations, and inappropriate or abusive behavior in chat.
- 1 Strike: Official warning.
- 2 Strikes: Final warning; your product visibility and search ranking are actively penalized.
- 3 Strikes: 30-day account suspension. All listings are hidden, and buying/selling privileges are disabled.
- Permanent Bans: Tarra’s Administrative team holds final authority to mediate disputes and reserves the right to manually issue permanent account bans at any time for severe violations.
